TATA IPL 2025 Player retentions list announced

The player retention window for the TATA Indian Premier League 2025 season closed on October 31, 2024, as all 10 franchises finalized their core lineups. The teams have retained a total of 46 players, investing a cumulative INR 558.5 crore.

With a total salary cap of INR 120 crore available at the mega auction for each team to form a squad of 25 players, franchises were allowed to retain up to six players (Retention/Right to Match) with a with a maximum of five capped internationals and up to two uncapped Indian players.

TATA IPL 2025 Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders and inaugural season champions Rajasthan Royals have opted for full retentions, securing six players each. Five teams—Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians, and Sunrisers Hyderabad—have retained five players. Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Punjab Kings (PBKS) have retained four, three, and two players, respectively.

With INR 110.5 crore in hand, PBKS head into the highly anticipated action-packed mega auction with the largest purse.

TATA IPL 2025 Player Auction List Announced

The highly anticipated TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) Player Auction List is out with a total of 574 players set to be featured in the Mega Auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on 24th and 25th November, 2024.

Out of the 574 Players, 366 are Indian and 208 are overseas, including 3 players from associate nations. The Auction will include 318 Indian uncapped players and 12 uncapped overseas players.

204 slots will be up for grabs with 70 available slots for overseas players.

INR 2 Crore is the highest reserve price with 81 players opting to be in the highest bracket.

The two-day Mega Auction will commence at 12:30 PM local time on Sunday, November 24, 2024.

The IPL player registration officially closed on November 4, 2024, with an impressive total of 1,574 players (1,165 Indian and 409 overseas) signing up to be part of the mega TATA IPL 2025 Player Auction, which will be held over two days on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
